It is Possible to Enter Unsupported Feedback to LTI Using the 'Grid' Gradebook View

It is possible to enter unsupported feedback to LTI using the 'grid' gradebook view.

Description

It is correct behavior that students are directed to to the LTI when clicking on the 'feedback' icon in their view of the Gradebook. However, it should not be possible to enter unsupported feedback to LTI using the 'grid' Gradebook view.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator

  2. Create the LTI

  3. Create an attempt of the LTI

  4. As an instructor, go to the Gradebook

  5. Choose Grid view

  6. Find the attempt from step 3. Click on the cell

  7. Enter a grade. Click on the cell again

  8. The pop-over menu appears

  9. Select Feedback

Observed Behavior:
The in-UI feedback peek-panel opens, and works.
Expected Behavior:
The user is directed to the LTI to enter feedback.

Target Release

Functioning as Designed

Information

The Feedback option in the Grid view is using the same workflow as Quick Comments in Original and was designed for adding feedback at the override level. No sync with the LTI tool was intended when adding this option.
