Daily Notifications Emails with Group Assignment Submissions are not Sent to Instructors

Daily Notifications for events/corresponding emails are not generated/sent for instructors with Group Assignment submissions when instructors select "Email me once a day" in their personal Notification Settings for Email Notifications.

Description

Daily Notifications for events/corresponding emails are not generated/sent for instructors with Group Assignment submissions when instructors select "Email me once a day" in their personal Notification Settings for Email Notifications. No "Daily Notifications" email is registered in the bb-email log.

However, other daily digest emails are working fine, like Group Test submissions and so on. Also, instructors get events/emails for Group Assignment submissions when they have "Email me right away" in their personal Notification Settings for Email Notifications.

Steps to Replicate

Prerequisite:
Make sure Email Configuration and Notification Settings on System Level are set as needed. Also not required, but recommended, select Send submission receipts, which is under Administrator Panel > Notifications > General Notification Settings.

In addition, instructor needs to select "Email me once a day" in their personal Notification Settings.

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an instructor

  2. Navigate to System Admin > Courses > Access an Original course

  3. Create a Group with at least two students in it

  4. Create a Group Assignment > While in a course content areas, click Assessments > Assignments > enter name in the "Name and Color" text-box and points for "Points Possible"

  5. Under "Submission Details", select "Group Submission" and move above created group from "Items to Select" to "Selected Items" > Submit

  6. Log in as one of the students in the Group, access the Group Assignment and submit. Observe corresponding Submission receipt and received student confirmation emails.

  7. As instructor, wait for the daily digest task to start/complete as set in "Send daily email digest at" under Administrator Panel > Notifications > General Notification Settings

Observed Behavior:
The instructor does not receive a Daily Notifications email at all.

Expected Behavior:
The instructor receives a Daily Notifications email with the Group Assignment submission in it.
