Journals Cannot be set as Gradable When Created Within Learning Modules in Ultra Courses

When instructors create a Journal assignment within a Learning Module in Ultra courses, the Journal cannot be set as gradable.

Description

When instructors create a new Journal assignment within a Learning Module, selecting the Grade journal checkbox in the Journal Settings has no effect. Clicking Save or Cancel closes the Details & Information panel, but a second panel remains open with the Grade journal option checked, a {{panelTitle}} variable heading and no Save or Cancel options.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as an instructor

  2. Open an Ultra course

  3. On the Content page, select Create > Learning Module

  4. Within the Learning Module, create a Journal

  5. Open Journal Settings and select the Grade journal checkbox

Observed Behavior:
Nothing happens after selecting the Grade journal checkbox. Clicking Save or Cancel closes the Details & Information panel, but a second panel remains open with the Grade journal option checked, a {{panelTitle}} variable heading and no Save or Cancel options.

Expected Behavior:
The Grade journal checkbox should be selected successfully, and the instructor should be able to click Save to save the journal.

Resolution / Workaround

Journals can be set as Gradable after refreshing the page.
