Gradable Journal Header Displays the Journal's Original Creation Date When Grading Journal Entries

The Gradable Journal header displays the date the journal was originally created when grading journal entries.

Description

When grading student journal entries from the Grades & Participation page, the Gradable Journal header displays in the following format:

Journal (creation date - due date)

If the journal was copied from a source course to the current course, the creation date displayed in the header reflects the date the journal was created in the source course. For courses that have been copied forward multiple times, the displayed creation date may be several years old.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as an instructor

  2. Open an Ultra course

  3. From the Course Content page, click on the ellipsis menu (...) and select Copy Items

  4. Select a source course that contains a gradable journal

  5. Copy the gradable journal into the current course

  6. After the copy process completes, change the journal due date to a future date

  7. Log in as a student and access the course

  8. Submit an entry to the copied journal

  9. Log back in as the instructor

  10. Navigate to Gradebook and select the journal

  11. Under the Grades & Participation tab, select the student's name

Observed Behavior:
The Journal header displays both the date the journal was created in the source course and the journal due date.
