Renaming Consecutive Items in a Learning Module Applies to the Wrong Item in Ultra

In Ultra View mode, renaming content items within a Learning Module while navigating between items using the Next button causes the title entered for the second item to be applied to the previously edited item.

Description

In Ultra View mode, renaming content items within a Learning Module while navigating between items using the Next button causes the title entered for the second item to be applied to the previously edited item. The current item is not renamed. This issue does not occur when each item is opened and edited individually.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator

  2. Create and access an Ultra course

  3. Click (+) > Create > Learning Module

  4. Inside the Learning Module, create two assignments: Assignment 1 and Assignment 2

  5. Open Assignment 1 > Rename Assignment 1 to Assignment 1xz

  6. Click the Next button to navigate to Assignment 2 > Rename Assignment 2 to Assignment 2xz

  7. Click X to close the assignment and return to the course content area

Observed Behavior:
The title entered for the second item is applied to the first item:

Assignment 1 → Assignment 2xz
Assignment 2 → Assignment 2 (unchanged)

Expected Behavior:
The title changes should be applied to the corresponding items:

Assignment 1 → Assignment 1xz
Assignment 2 → Assignment 2xz

Resolution / Workaround

Avoid using the Next navigation button when renaming items. Instead, close each item after editing and reopen the next item individually before renaming. This workflow correctly applies the title changes.
