Specific Members or Groups Rule Overrides Other Release Conditions in Ultra

Specific Members or Groups Rule Overrides Other Release Conditions in Ultra

Description

When an Ultra content item includes multiple release condition rules, adding a Specific members or groups rule causes the remaining release conditions to be ignored for users who are not explicitly selected.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as an administrator

  2. Navigate to System Admin > Courses > Create an Ultra Course

  3. Enroll two students in the course

  4. Create a test containing one essay question

  5. Open the test Release Conditions

  6. Add a Specific members or groups rule and select the first student under Individual members

  7. Add a second release condition with an Access from date in the past

  8. Save the release conditions and make the test available

  9. Log in as the second student and navigate to the course content

Observed Result:
The test is only visible to the student explicitly selected in the Specific members or groups rule. The second student cannot see the test, even though the access date condition has been met.

Expected Result:
The test is visible to users who satisfy any applicable release condition. The second student should be able to access the test because the access date condition has already been met.
