Description

In Ultra view mode, when a Group Set associated with a content item is modified (e.g., changing from Custom to Self-enrollment or removing it), the system automatically updates the release conditions to “All members.” However, affected users may lose access to the content, indicating that release conditions are not correctly synchronized with Group Set changes.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator

  2. Create and access an Ultra course

  3. Create a student user > Enroll this user in the course created in step 2

  4. Create a Group Set with a defined group type (e.g., Custom)

  5. Create a group within the group set and ensure the student created in step 3 is a member of this group

  6. Create a content item (e.g., assignment)

  7. Apply release conditions to restrict access to a specific group within the Group Set

  8. Verify that the user created in step 3 in the group can access the content

  9. Modify the Group Set (e.g., change type to Self-enrollment or remove the Group Set)

  10. As an administrator, open the content item and observe that release conditions are automatically updated to "All members."

  11. Log in as the student user > Attempt to access the content item

Observed Behavior:

Users cannot access the content item, even though release conditions indicate "All members."

Expected Behavior:

All users should be able to access the content item once release conditions are updated to "All members."
