Due to upcoming changes in Blackboard LMS, we expect the Readspeaker Building Block for Original Course View to stop working. As of August 6, 2026, customers using ReadSpeaker in Blackboard LMS should use Ultra Course View only.

Specific integration partners have exceptions for continued Building Block use. Blackboard contacted these partners about expected changes for Blackboard LMS in the August 2026 release. ReadSpeaker has identified that these changes will likely disrupt the ReadSpeaker Building Block. This integration from ReadSpeaker Text-to-Speech solution is specific to Original Course View.

Blackboard LMS clients using ReadSpeaker for courses should ensure these are deployed in Ultra Course View by August 6, 2026. If an Original Course must start on or after August 6, 2026, it may be necessary to turn off ReadSpeaker Text-to-Speech tool for that course.
