Description
When attempting to reuse questions using the 'Find question' option, tests that contain JavaScript or CSS code within their question descriptions cause the option to be greyed out, preventing selection.
Steps to Replicate
Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator
Create a course in the Original Course View
In the left panel, navigate to Tests, Surveys, and Pools > Test
Build a test named 'Test With CSS Code' and access it
Select Create Question and choose any question type, such as 'Multiple Choice'
In the 'Question Text' field, insert a question and use the Insert/Edit code sample option
Insert CSS code within the <style> tag, including components like width, height, padding, border, and box-sizing (an example will be provided below).
Save the question and submit
Repeat step 4, but this time name the test 'Test With JS Code'
In the 'Question Text' field, insert JavaScript code within the <script> tag (an example will be provided below).
Save the question and submit
Create another test named 'Test General' without adding any questions
Use the 'Reuse question' feature and select 'Find question'
Attempt to select questions from the 'Test With CSS Code' and 'Test With JS Code' tests
Example of CSS code:
<style>
.div1 {
width: 300px;
height: 100px;
border: 1px solid blue;
box-sizing: border-box;
}
.div2 {
width: 300px;
height: 100px;
padding: 50px;
border: 1px solid red;
box-sizing: border-box;
}
</style>
Example of JavaScript code:
<script>
const obj = {name: "John", age: 30, city: "New York"};
const myJSON = JSON.stringify(obj);
document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = myJSON;
</script>
Observed Behavior:
Questions from tests containing JavaScript or CSS code are grayed out and cannot be selected for reuse, preventing instructors from reusing these questions.
Expected Behavior:
Instructors should be able to select any question for reuse without restrictions.
