Duplicate Items Feature Does Not Update Gradebook Title on Initial Creation

When an Instructor duplicates an Assignment or Test in an Ultra course, the duplicated item is correctly given a new name in the Course Content area, but the Gradebook initially displays the original item name for both the original and duplicated ite

Description

The issue occurs when content is duplicated from the Course Content page. Although the duplicated item is created as a separate gradable item, its Gradebook name remains the same as the original item. This results in two gradable items appearing with identical names, making them difficult to distinguish in the Gradebook.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator

  2. Navigate to Courses and Create a new Ultra course

  3. Make the course Available

  4. Access the Ultra course

  5. Select Create > Assignment

  6. Create an Assignment with a unique Name

  7. Set the Assignment to Visible to Students

  8. Navigate to the Course Content tab

  9. Select the More options menu for the Assignment and select Duplicate

  10. Confirm that the duplicated Assignment is Created with "Copy" added to its name and remains hidden from students

  11. Navigate to the Gradebook tab and select Gradable Items

Observed Behavior:
The Gradebook displays the original Assignment name for both the original and duplicated Items

Expected Behavior:
The Gradebook displays the original name for the original Item and the updated "Copy" name for the duplicated Item.
