Attendance Data Not Restored When Course Archives Are Transferred to Another Site

The user data for an attendance record is included in the course archive. However it's linked to the PKID which leads to the conclusion it cannot be restored to another site, nor can it be restored if all the users are deleted

Description

The attendance record data associated with users is included in the course archive package. However, the data is stored using internal PKID references rather than portable user identifiers. As a result, the attendance records cannot be successfully restored to a different site, and restoration will also fail if the original user accounts have been deleted from the source environment. This behavior prevents attendance data from being reliably migrated or recovered across environments or after user removal.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator

  2. Create an Ultra Course

  3. Add at least a few users

  4. Add attendance

  5. Take one attendance for each user

  6. Archive the course, or use auto-archive

  7. Go to another site

  8. Restore the archive

Expected Behavior:
The users are created, and the data is restored.

Observed Behavior:
The users are created but the attendance data is not restored.
