Description

In Ultra courses, the Discussion engagement panel may display a participant as "undefined undefined" after a user who previously contributed to the discussion is unenrolled from the course.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as an Administrator

  2. Create and access an Ultra course

  3. Enroll one instructor and at least 15 student users in the course

  4. Log in as the instructor and open the course

  5. Navigate to Course Content

  6. Select + > Create > Learning Module > Enter a title, and make the learning module Visible to students

  7. Open the learning module

  8. Select + > Create > Discussion > Enter a title for the discussion

  9. Select Discussion Settings > Enable Grade discussion > Save

  10. Set the discussion to Visible to students and save it

  11. As at least 10 different student users, access the discussion and:
    a- Create discussion posts
b- Reply to other students' posts
c- Create multiple posts and optionally save one as a draft

  12. Log back in as the instructor

  13. Open the graded discussion and reply to several student posts

  14. Open the Engagement panel and note the first participants displayed

  15. Log in as an administrator and unenroll one of the participants currently displayed in the Engagement panel from the course

  16. Return to the discussion as the instructor and refresh the page

  17. Reopen the Engagement panel

Observed Behavior:
One of the participant entries in the Engagement panel is displayed as "undefined undefined" instead of showing the correct participant information.

Expected Behavior:
The Engagement panel updates correctly after a participant is unenrolled, displaying the remaining participants with their proper names and without any "undefined undefined" entries.
