Description
When a user with the Observer role attempts to access PDF or Word documents uploaded to a course Content page for a course in which their observed student is enrolled, the file does not display. Instead, a blank gray page appears.
Steps to Replicate
Log in to Blackboard Learn as an administrator
Open an Ultra course
On the course Content page, upload one or more Word documents or PDF files
Enrol a student in the course
Create a new user and assign both the Primary System Role and Primary Institution Role as Observer
Associate the observer account with the enrolled student
Log in as the observer
Navigate to Tools > Observer and select the associated student
Select one of the student's courses and click Observe
Navigate to the Progress page
Attempt to open any of the PDF or Word document files uploaded to the course Content page
Observed Behavior:
The file does not display. Instead, a blank gray page appears.
Expected Behavior:
The selected PDF or Word document should open and display its contents.
