Course Catalog - Students Added to Waitlist Despite Available Enrollment Capacity

Students registering for a course through the Course Catalog may be incorrectly added to the course waitlist despite available enrollment capacity.

Description

When registering for a course through the Course Catalog with available enrollment capacity, students are successfully enrolled but may also be incorrectly added to the waitlist.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an administrator

  2. Open the Course Catalog tool

  3. Navigate to Administration and select the Offering Management tab

  4. Edit a course and set Max Enrollments to 30

  5. Enable Allow Waitlist, then click Save & Close

  6. Enroll 20 students in the course

  7. Log into Course Catalog as a student

  8. Attempt to register for the course

Observed Behavior:
The student is added to the waitlist while also being enrolled in the course.

Expected Behavior:
The student should be successfully enrolled in the course and should not be placed on the waitlist, as the maximum enrollment limit has not been reached.
