Screen Readers Do Not Properly Recognize Headings and Bulleted Lists in Ultra Documents

In Ultra view mode, when using screen readers to access content within course documents, heading tags and list structures are not correctly recognized.

Description

In Ultra view mode, when using screen readers to access content within course documents, heading tags and list structures are not correctly recognized. This is impacting accessibility compliance and user experience.

Steps to Replicate

Prerequisites: Install a screen reader tool (e.g., JAWS or the Chrome "Silktide" extension).

1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
2. Create an Ultra course
3. Create two users, an instructor and a student > Enroll these users in the course created in step 2
4. As an instructor, access the course
5. In the Content page, Create (+) > Document > Provide a title
6. In the Text Editor, add headers and a numbered list like:

My list of things (Heading style, comes up as H5)

1. This is item one.
2. This is item two
a. This is item 2a
b. This is 2b
c. And this is 2c
3. This is item 3
4. This is item 4
d. This is the start of a new sublist (4a), but it comes up as d, as though it is a continuation of item 2.
e. This is 4b, but it comes up as e.b
7. Click the (+) > Content
8. From the text editor, select Text Style > Header > Type text in the editor as a header
9. Make the document available to students > Click Save
10. As a student, access the course
11. Access the newly created document
12. Launch a Screen Reader tool like JAWS or "Silktide" extension
13. Navigate the page using the keyboard to activate the screen reader to recognize the contents of the page.

Observed Behavior:

The screen reader is incorrectly reading the headers and the numbered list items.

Expected Behavior:

The screen reader will correctly read the headers and the numbered list items.
