Description
When creating a Text Item from the Gradebook Grid View, the Item Name field does not correctly handle the spacebar key. Instead of inserting a space into the text field, pressing the spacebar causes focus to move away from the textbox, preventing users from entering multi-word item names. This behavior is specific to the Add Text Item dialog and does not occur when entering text in other Gradebook item creation dialogs.
Steps to Replicate
Log in to Blackboard Learn as an administrator
Navigate to System Admin > Courses > Create an Ultra Course
Open the course
Navigate to Gradebook > Grid View
Click the + icon between Gradebook columns
Select Add Text Item
Click inside the Item Name text box
Type a multi-word name, such as Test Item, using the spacebar between the words
Observed Behavior:
Pressing the spacebar causes focus to move away from the Item Name text box instead of inserting a space, preventing the entry of multi-word names.
Expected Behavior:
Pressing the spacebar inserts a space into the Item Name text box while maintaining focus, allowing users to enter multi-word text normally.
