HTTP 414 Error Uploading Zip Packages With a Large Number of Files in Ultra Courses

An HTTP 414 error can occur when uploading a Zip package containing a large number of files in Ultra courses.

Description

When uploading a Zip package containing a large number of files to an Ultra course content collection, an HTTP 414 error can occur.

Despite the error message "414 Request-URI Too Large" being displayed, the files are successfully uploaded to the courses content collection.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as an Administrator

  2. Open an Ultra course

  3. Click the plus (+) icon and select Content Collection > Browse Content Collection

  4. Click Upload > Upload Zip Package > Browse Local Files

  5. Choose a Zip file containing a large number of files

  6. Click Submit

Observed Behavior:
The Zip package upload begins and then an "HTTP 414 Request-URI Too Large – openresty" error message is displayed.

Expected Behavior:
The Zip package should upload successfully without any errors.
