Group Filter Is Not Preserved When Launching Flex Grading from New Gradebook Grid View

Group Filter Is Not Preserved When Launching Flex Grading from New Gradebook Grid View

Description

When the Gradebook New Grid View is filtered by one or more Groups, launching the Flexible Grading workflow for a student does not preserve the applied Group filter.

Instead of displaying only the students belonging to the selected group(s), the Flex Grading student list displays all students in the course. The Group filter context from the Grid View is lost, resulting in inconsistent behavior between Gradebook and Flexible Grading.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as an Instructor

  2. Open an Ultra course that contains student groups and assignment submissions

  3. Navigate to Gradebook

  4. Switch to the New Gradebook Grid View

  5. Apply a Group filter (select a specific group)

  6. Verify that only students belonging to the selected group are displayed in the grid

  7. Locate a student's submission within the filtered group

  8. Launch Flexible Grading for that student's submission from the Gradebook Grid View

  9. Observe the student roster/navigation list displayed in Flexible Grading

Observed Behavior:

When Flexible Grading is launched from a Group-filtered Gradebook Grid View, the Group filter is lost and all students in the course are displayed.

Expected Behavior:
When a Group filter is applied in the New Gradebook Grid View and Flexible Grading is launched, only students from the selected group(s) should be displayed in the Flexible Grading student list.
