Description
In BB Annotate, notes added to highlighted text do not have a visible indicator showing where the note is attached. When a student views the graded submission, the note is displayed only when the user hovers over a specific area near the highlighted text.
Steps to Replicate
Log into Blackboard Learn as an instructor
Create an Assignment
Login as a student and submit a document file to the assignment
Login as the instructor and open the student's submission for grading
In the inline document viewer, select a portion of text
Click on the Highlight Text icon
Click on the highlighted text to display the annotation toolbar
Select the Note icon on the right side of the toolbar
Enter text in the note popup
Exit the note editor and post the grade
Login again as a student and open the graded submission
Attempt to view the note associated with the highlighted text
Observed Behavior:
The note is not displayed when the highlighted text is selected or clicked. The note only appears when the user moves the mouse approximately half an inch to the right of the highlighted text.
Expected Behavior:
A visible indicator should identify that a note is attached to the highlighted text, and the note should be accessible by selecting or clicking the highlighted area.
