Description
When an assignment with SafeAssign enabled and a time limit with auto-submit is used, the submission is recorded as expected, but the SafeAssign Originality Report is not generated, and an incorrect message is displayed.
Steps to Replicate
Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
Navigate to System Admin > Courses
Search for and open an Ultra course
Click the plus (+) icon in the Course Content area and select Create > Assignment
Provide a Title and Instructions
Open Assignment Settings and enable SafeAssign
Add a Time Limit
Select Work is automatically saved and submitted when time expires under the Submission rules
Click Save
Make the Assignment visible to students
Log in as a student
Access the course and open the Assignment
Click Start Attempt and start the timer
Exit the assignment without submitting before the timer expires
After the time limit expires, log in as an instructor
Navigate to Gradebook > Gradable Items > Submissions
Verify the student status shows Submitted
Click on the student name to view the submission
Observed Behavior:
The submission shows Submitted, but the SafeAssign Originality Report is not generated. Instead, the message “SafeAssign was not enabled when this submission was made. No originality report is available.” is displayed.
Expected Behavior:
The submission should display Submitted, and the SafeAssign Originality Report should be generated.
