Authentication Settings Changes Not Propagating to Other Apps

After updating Authentication settings, the new settings are not propagating to other app servers.

Description

After updating Authentication settings, the new settings are not propagating to other app servers. This can cause some app servers to have different authentication settings than others, causing login issues on those with the outdated settings.

(Multiple app serves serve a single production instance of Blackboard LMS, usually invisible to the end-user)

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard LMS as an administrator

  2. Go https://<siteURL>/webapps/portal/healthCheck

  3. Note the Hostname in the report

  4. Go to the Admin Panel > Authentication

  5. Edit the Default authentication

  6. Type something additional in the description

  7. Open a new private browser window, to try to force a new app server

  8. Go https://<siteURL>/webapps/portal/healthCheck

  9. Note the Hostname in the report

  10. If not different, repeat

  11. Navigate to Admin > Authentication

Observed Behavior:

The description is updated with the new text.

Expected Behavior:

The description is the previous text.
