The Blackboard Mobile App authentication logs show some users as being authenticated via the default authentication method instead of SAML, despite the institution being configured for SAML authentication. This behavior has been observed in both Android and iOS devices.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Open the Blackboard Mobile App

  2. Search for the relevant institution

  3. Tap Continue with Web-Login

  4. Enter valid user credentials

  5. Review the authentication logs

Observed Behavior:
The authentication logs show the user as being authenticated via the default authentication method instead of SAML.

Expected Behavior:
The authentication logs should show the user as being authenticated via the institution's configured SAML authentication.
