Illuminate has two authentication types:
Institutional Authentication: The newest and recommended authentication method for Illuminate. This method uses your institution’s authentication system, including your existing usernames and passwords.
Native Authentication: The legacy authentication method for Illuminate. Users sign in with a username and password. User creation and management must be requested through a support ticket.
