Closing Course Roster Student Activity Directs you to the Gradebook

When a user closes the screen after accessing a student's activity from the Course Roster > Student Activity page, they are not returned to the Course Roster area. Instead you are directed to the Gradebook tab within the course.

Description

When an instructor accesses a student's activity details from Course Roster > Student Activity and then closes the student activity view, the application does not preserve the user's previous navigation context. Instead of returning the user to the Course Roster page where the student was selected, the system unexpectedly redirects them to the Gradebook tab within the course. This behavior disrupts the expected navigation flow, requiring users to manually navigate back to the Course Roster to continue reviewing student activity, resulting in an inconsistent and less efficient user experience.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as Administrator

  2. Access any Ultra course that contains student enrollments

  3. Click on the Course Roster

  4. Click on any Student > Click Student Activity

  5. While the Student Activity page is loading you can see the Course Roster unload just prior to the Student Activity page being displaying

  6. Click X to close the Student Activity panel/page

  7. Click X to close the remaining panel/page

Observed Behavior:

You are displayed the Gradebook page for the course.

Expected behavior:

When accessing the Student Activity area for a student from the course Roster you should navigate back to the course Roster once the Student Activity area has been closed.
