Videos embedded in course content type "Item" using the HTML5 Video tag method are unresponsive in the Blackboard and Instructor apps on iOS version 12.2+.
Android and prior iOS versions are not affected.

The embedded video player displays a black frame, but it does not respond to play the video.

Create an Item
Embed an mp4 video in the Item using the content editor 'embed media' button
Enroll a user as student role and log in to the Blackboard app as this user
*Expected* - The video should play
*Observed* - The video does not play. The player frame displays a black box with play button, but it is unresponsive

This was caused by a change in the UIwebView iOS 12.2 which is leveraged in the display of Items.

This issue was resolved with the release of Blackboard App version 4.2 and Blackboard Instructor version 2.7 on May 30, 2019.
