A data corruption issue creates an exception error when a student saves a draft or submits an attempt. The cause of the data corruption is being investigated and is not yet determined.

Steps to Replicate

This cannot be replicated from scratch and requires a course effected by an existing data corruption issue. For those courses -

  1. Log into Blackboard LMS as an administrator

  2. Create an Ultra course and add a test

  3. Enrol a student

  4. Login as that student and start an attempt

  5. As that student, try to submit the attempt

Observed Behavior:

An HTTP 500 error is displayed -
HTTP 500 on PUT /learn/api/v1/courses/{id}/gradebook/attempts/{id}?saveBeforeSubmitAndPost=true

Expected Behavior:

The submission should be sent.
