Description
In Ultra courses, when a group assignment is configured with a release condition that hides the item after a specific date, students are unable to view their full submission once the item is no longer visible. Unlike individual submissions, which continue to display the assignment content, submission details, and feedback after visibility expires, group submissions only display a summary view. This includes the grade and a feedback icon, but the actual submission content and instructor feedback are not accessible.
Steps to Replicate
Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
Create a newUltra course
In the course, configure a Group Set and assign a test student or the Student Preview user to a group
Create a Group Assignment and set the grading method to Points
Set a due date, and configure Release Conditions so the assignment is visible until a short time after the due date
As a student, submit the group assignment before the visibility window expires
As the instructor, grade the submission and provide feedback
After the content becomes unavailable based on the release condition, log in as the student
Open the Gradebook and access the group assignment submission
Observed Result:
Only a limited dashboard view is shown, including the grade and a feedback icon. The submitted content and feedback are not visible.
Expected Result:
The submission opens fully, displaying the assignment instructions, submitted content, and the instructor’s feedback.
