Description
Users accessing announcements from the activity stream through the Android mobile application for Blackboard may see previously viewed announcement content instead of the newly created ones.
Steps to Replicate
Prerequisites: An Android device with the Blackboard App installed.
Log into Blackboard Learn with Original Experience as an administrator
Navigate to Users > Create a student user
Navigate Courses > Create and access a course > Use Quick Enroll
Enroll the student created in step 2 in this course
Create Announcement 1 with some content
Using the Android device, open the Blackboard App and log in as the student created in step 2
Open the Activity Stream and open Announcement 1 to view the content
Stay logged into the Mobile App
As an administrator using a web browser, log in and access the course > Announcements
Create Announcement 2 with different content from Announcement 1
As the student on the Android Blackboard App, refresh the Activity Stream until you see Announcement 2 appear
Open Announcement 2
Observed Behavior:
The newly opened announcement displays the content of the previously viewed announcement.
Expected Behavior:
Each announcement opened from the Android mobile app should display its correct and corresponding content.
Resolution / Workaround
If you remove the Blackboard App, reinstall it, then log in again and access the latest announcement, the issue is resolved. However, this workaround needs to be repeated each time a new announcement is posted.
