Description

A participant with an excessively long display name (approximately 200 characters) caused the discussion interface layout to break. The expanded Participant panel reduced the available space for the Discussion Topic area, resulting in the discussion topic no longer being displayed.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log in to Blackboard Learn as Administrator

  2. Create a student user with a very long first (100 chars) and last name (100 chars) and enroll the user in an ultra-course

  3. Go into the course

  4. Create a Discussion

  5. Open the Discussion

Observed Behavior:

Can not see the Discussion Topic. Long participant name causes the Participants panel to expand, making the Discussion Topic area smaller.

Expected Behavior:

The Discussion page layout should remain properly aligned, and participant names should not affect the size of the Discussion area.
