Unsupported Original Course Experience Tool Availability Settings can be Copied into Ultra courses

Description

When an Original course has tool settings divergent from the System defaults and this course is copied into a new Ultra course with settings consonant with them, the tool settings of the original course prevail.

Steps to Replicate

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator

  2. Create a pair of new fake LTI (Deep Linking) placements, 'DL Content Placement 1' and 'DL Content Placement 2'

  3. Go to System Admin > Tools

  4. Turn off, but do not lock off, #2

  5. Create a new Original Experience Course (201002_orig_new)

  6. Access the course

  7. Go to Customization > Tool Availability. Enable placement 2.

  8. Create a new Ultra Course (201002_ultra_new)

  9. Access the course and create a document

  10. Use the ⨁ > 🛒 to verify that Placement 1 is seen and placement 2 is unseen

  11. Return to the System Admin panel and copy 201002_orig_new into 201002_ultra_new

  12. Click on 'All'. Note: this selects 'Settings'.

  13. Enter the 201002_ultra_new course again

  14. Repeat step 9

Observed Behavior:
Placement 2 is seen.
Expected Behavior:
Placement 2 is not seen.
